How can a manufacturer get OZEV approval for an EV charger?
OZEV chargepoint approval for manufacturers is dependent on a set of minimum technical requirements. It is recommended that manufactures take the following steps:
1. Ensure each chargepoint has either model name or number so it can be identified by installers applying for OZEV grants.
2. It’s beneficial to obtain certification by a United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) or an equivalent accredited laboratory prior to applying to OZEV.
3. Ensure your chargepoint model meets the minimum technical criteria for commercial chargepoints or residential chargepoints.
4. To complete the application, you’ll need to upload digital copies of the operating manual, an OZEV compliant warranty document, and a declaration of Conformity certificate with EC directive 768/2008/EV and the British Standards detailed in OZEV’s minimum technical specifications.
5. Once approved, your chargepoint will be added to the OZEV approved list
